It is one of the oldest parenting tricks in the book: using Santa as leverage for good behavior in December. Who hasn't bent down to a screaming child to say, in a low serious voice, "Honey, Santa is Watching." The child immediately stops with big wide eyes (wheels turning) looking around to see where Santa might be. Perhaps he's hiding behind the sofa, or maybe he's up in a tree peering into the house with a pair of binoculars.
We have gone as far as to send forged emails from the big guy himself detailing all the naughty or good things they have done each day. I am thinking of having them color this picture of Santa to post throughout the house. Hey, I have to use this scare tactic to my advantage - it only lasts so long!
