Mexican Doughnuts


September 16th is Independence Day in Mexico. Why not make Mexican doughnuts to celebrate?
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup sifted flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
small pinch baking soda
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons buttermilk mixture(mix together 1/3 cup buttermilk to 1 egg)
fat for deep frying
cinnamon and sugar for coating

DIRECTIONS:
1. Measure and mix all ingredients together to form a soft dough.
2. Add more milk mixture if necessary.
3. Break off small ball of dough. Roll in hands and shape into tiny doughnuts, or into cigar shapes. 4. Make as many as their dough allows.
5. Fry doughnuts in hot deep fat at 350 degrees until brown.
6. Drain on paper towels.
7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
