Out Of Town Park Construction

Out of Town Park - 10 Acre multi-use field - parking lot work

The work is currently scheduled to begin Monday the 24th and end by Thursday morning the 25th. During this period the entire dirt lot currently used primarily for AYSO Fernley will be closed. All parking for use of the 10 acre multi-use field must be in the 6 acre lot behind the rodeo arena. Please help us get the word out. The more parents that know the fewer complaints we’ll get (hopefully) while we try to improve the dust control issue.

Mexican Doughnuts

September 16th is Independence Day in Mexico. Why not make Mexican doughnuts to celebrate?

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup sifted flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

small pinch baking soda

2 tablespoons sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons buttermilk mixture(mix together 1/3 cup buttermilk to 1 egg)

fat for deep frying

cinnamon and sugar for coating

DIRECTIONS:
1. Measure and mix all ingredients together to form a soft dough.

2. Add more milk mixture if necessary.

3. Break off small ball of dough. Roll in hands and shape into tiny doughnuts, or into cigar shapes. 4. Make as many as their dough allows.

5. Fry doughnuts in hot deep fat at 350 degrees until brown.

6. Drain on paper towels.

7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Registration includes a uniform, annual membership package and a T-shirt.

Nonprofit Fernley Community Thrift Store

Stop by and check out Fernley's newest community thrift store!

All profits go right back into the community through the Fernley Community Coalition (Substance Abuse Focus Group, Fernley High School's substance abuse prevention team TATUD, contributions to great programs such as Lyon Recreation's summer teen club, etc.)

Store Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 10am-4pm and Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-6pm. The store is also normally open on Saturdays from noon-4pm.
